Junior Lifeguard Camp

Get your StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification at the WaterWorks Outdoor Pool. This class is from June 24-27 from 9 AM - Noon. Open to all base personnel, ages 11-14. Limited spots are available!

Registration will be available in person at the Aquatics Office. 

•  $100 covering essential lifeguarding techniques, water rescue skills, CPR/AED training, and first aid protocols. 
• Please note that participants are required to pass a pre-requisite swimming evaluation before they can attend the Lifeguard Certification Course.
• If a participant does not pass the pre-requisite, they will be eligible for a full refund of the course fee.
• Once the lifeguard certification course has commenced, the fee becomes non-refundable if a participant does not pass the course.
• All supplies are included in the course.

Successful completion of the Junior Lifeguarding Course will result in the learning of the following skills:

• Essential Lifeguarding
• First Aid
• CPR/AED Training
• Water Rescue Skills

Students ages 11-14 are eligible for registration. Must be 11 years old on or before the last day of the course and must be able to pass the following prerequisite skills:

• Swim 50 meters continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. You may use front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
• Tread water for 1 minute.
•  Starting in the water, submerge to the deepest part of the pool, and return to the surface. No goggles are authorized to be used in this event.
• All prerequisites will be completed at the beginning of the course.
