Child Development Centers (CDC) are designed to meet the individual developmental needs of eligible children by offering quality child care childcare for infants and children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Programs provide low adult-to-child ratios that support quality experiences for young children and onsite Training and Curriculum Specialists who mentor and foster professional development of CYP Professionals.
Child Development Center
The Child Development Center (CDC) offers full day care for children six weeks to five years of age (not enrolled in kindergarten). Part-Day care is offered for those ages three to five. The CDC is accredited and complies with Department of Defense (DoD) standards. The CDC follows the Creative Curriculum, a play and theory based curriculum which offers a variety of planned group and individual activities tailored to children’s developmental needs.
For hourly child care, please call the morning that care is being requested. Reservations can be made Monday, 8 AM (to allow families attending the Welcome Aboard brief to have care), and Tuesday through Friday, 6 AM. Hourly care is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Eligible users include military personnel; DoD civilian personnel paid from appropriated funds (APF) and non-appropriated funds (NAF), active duty Coast Guard, reservists on active duty or during inactive duty for training, and DoD contract personnel who are performing mission-related duty on the installation. Hourly care is offered on a space available basis and retirees may be eligible when a waiting list does not exist and space is available. Customers requesting hourly care should call after 8 AM on the day of care. We provide care for the Welcome Aboard on a space available basis. Please complete all necessary paperwork prior to arriving for care. DoD regulates priority placement protocols.
Local patron fees for Child & Youth Programs are set on an annual basis using the sliding fee ranges published by ASD (M&FP). Sliding fee ranges are based on total family income. Call the Resource and Referral Specialist at 253-5064 for more information.
