The Mibu no Hana Taue festival is held on the first Sunday of June, and it was registered as a UNESCO "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" in 2011.
Oxen are adorned with decorations and accessories, then they plow a paddy field. Many "Saotome" (rice-planting women) move in a long horizontal line to plant the rice seedlings in the rice field while singing songs with the leader accompanied by Japanese drums and flutes.
