Thank you for your interest in our Youth Dance Classes. Open to Ages 3-17. Class times are not interchangeable.

The dress rehearsal is scheduled for April 26, 2024, and the recital is on April 27, 2024. Participation in these events requires signing up for an additional package, except for those enrolled in the Strength, Stretch, Leap and Turns classes.

Drop-in Available. A drop-in rate is available to any remaining spots at various price points per participant per class. A promo code will be available at the door of the class for payment.

Class Descriptions:

  • Pre-Dance (Ages 3-4) - 9:00 - 9:45 
    • In Pre Dance, students will have fun learning the basics of classical ballet and jazz. This class focuses on fostering a love of dance using ballet and jazz techniques while learning age-appropriate classroom etiquette.
      • Attire - Girls*: pink ballet shoes, black leotard, and pink tights. Skirts optional. Hair should be in a neat bun. 
      • Attire - Boys*: black ballet shoes, socks, a plain T-shirt, black athletic shorts. Longer hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible.
      • Dates:
        • January 16, 23, 30 | February 6, 13, 20, 27 | March 5 | April 2, 9, 16, 23

  • Creative Dance (Ages 4-5)
    • In Creative Dance, we will combine movement and artistic expression. This class focuses on building the fundamentals of dance movements using ballet techniques in a fun atmosphere.
      • Attire - Girls*: pink ballet shoes, black leotard, and pink tights. Skirts optional. Hair should be in a neat bun. 
      • Attire - Boys*: black ballet shoes, socks, a plain T-shirt, black athletic shorts. Longer hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible.
      • Dates:
        • ​January 18, 25 | February 1, 22, 29 | March 7, 14, 21 | April 4, 11, 18, 25

  • Pre-Ballet (Ages 5-7)
    • In Pre-Ballet, young dancers will be learning the fundamentals of the art of ballet through combining classic technique and creative ideas. Students will be introduced to exercises at the ballet barre, stretching, center work, across the floor, and finishing with a final creative dance and reverence.
      • Attire - Girls*: pink tights, leotards, and ballet slippers. Hair should be in a tight bun. 
      • Attire - Boys*: black ballet shoes, socks, a plain T-shirt, black athletic shorts. Longer hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible.
      • Dates:
        • February 7, 14, 21, 28 | March 6, 13, 20 | April 3, 10, 17, 24
  • Beginning Ballet (Ages 6-9)
  • A class to become familiar with and enjoy Ballet.
    • Attire - Girls*: pink tights, leotards, and ballet slippers. Hair should be in a tight bun. 
    • Attire - Boys*: black ballet shoes, socks, a plain T-shirt, black athletic shorts. Longer hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible.

      • January 18, 25 | February 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 | March 7, 14, 21 | April 4, 11, 18, 25

  • Intermediate Ballet (Ages 8-17)
  • In Intermediate Ballet, we will focus on classical dance techniques including the full vocabulary and alignment for barre in order to develop greater control and execution of movement in the center and across the floor. The aim of this class is to progressively train dancers to increase their knowledge of classical dance techniques while developing their strength and flexibility so that they can safely and effectively move towards more advanced levels in any form of dance.
    • Attire - Girls*: pink tights, leotards, and ballet slippers. Hair should be in a tight bun. 
    • Attire - Boys*: black ballet shoes, socks, a plain T-shirt, black athletic shorts. Longer hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible.
    • Dates:
      • January 17, 24, 31 | February 7, 14, 21, 28| March 6, 13, 20 | April 3, 10, 17, 24

  • Jazz (1 - Ages 5-7; 2 - Ages 8-10; 3 - Ages 11-17)
    • In Jazz, we will focus on building our technique through strength, flexibility, and choreography training. Each class will have a warm-up, and technique drills across the floor, and finish with a routine. Each exercise will have varied options to cater to your skill set. Not only will we grow as dancers but we will have a blast doing it! So whether or not you are here because dance is your passion and you want to make it your career or you just want to have fun and stay in shape, this class is for you!
      • Attire - Girls*: black jazz shoes, black leotards, black tights/leggings. Hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible. 
      • Attire - Boys*: black jazz shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts. Longer hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible.
      • Dates:
        • Jazz 1 - January 16, 23, 30 | February 6, 13, 20, 27 | March 5, 12, 19 | April 2, 9, 16, 23
        • Jazz 2 - January 17, 24, 31 | February 7, 14, 21, 28 | March 6, 13, 20 | April 3, 10, 17, 24
        • Jazz 3 - January 17, 24, 31 | February 7, 14, 21, 28 | March 6, 13, 20 | April 3, 10, 17, 24

  • Hip-Hop (1 - Ages 6-9; 2 - Ages 10-17)
    • In Hip-Hop, we will focus mainly on choreography training, and learning various styles of hip-hop dance through routines. Each class will have a warm-up, strength training, and a chance to learn a routine. We will also work on building our improv skills that are deeply rooted in hip-hop culture. We will learn styles like breakdancing, jazz funk, stepping, and modern hip-hop that you would see on world tours today. This class is for anyone who loves hip-hop music, high energy, and wants to have fun!
      • Attire*: sneakers, and athletic wear such as a t-shirt and sweatpants. No jeans.

        • Hip Hop 1 - January 16, 23, 30 | February 6, 13, 20, 27 | March 5, 12, 19 | April 2, 9, 16, 23
        • Hip Hop 2 - January 18, 25 | February 1, 22, 29 | March 7, 14, 21 | April 4, 11, 18, 25

  • Cheer and Pom (Ages 7-17)
    • In Cheer and Pom, we will learn cheer elements such as pom motions and jumps with a focus on dance team techniques. There is no stunting or tumbling in this class. The routine will be similar to what you’d expect from a high school dance team. On top of all that we will work on dance technique, strength training, and flexibility. The class will be energetic, upbeat, and of course fun!
      • Attire*: Sneakers and athletic wear. Hair should be pulled back in a bun or ponytail with no hair in the face. 
      • Dates:
        • Janruary 18, 25 | February 1, 22, 29 | March 7, 14, 21 | April 4, 11, 18, 25
  • Strength, Stretch, Turns & Leaps (Ages 8-17)
    • In SSTL, we will be focused on building flexibility and strengthening muscles for dancers to grow their skills and technical mastery of leaps, turns, and other similar tricks; to put them in sequence, testing the dancer's fluency and memory. This class is intended for students with prior ballet and/or jazz training. It is meant to enhance and build upon the dancer's strong technique.
      • Attire - Girls*: ballet or jazz shoes, leotard, and tights or form-fitting tank and jazz pants. Hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible. 
      • Attire - Boysballet or jazz shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts. Longer hair should be pulled back off the face as much as possible. 
      • Dates:
        • January 16, 23, 30 | February 20 | March 5, 12, 19 | April 2, 9, 16, 23
  • Iwakuni Dance Compnay (Ages 7-17)
    • This class is by audition only for students 8 +. Students will experience dance from a more professional perspective by having more performance opportunities. Students will learn dances in a variety of different styles including lyrical, contemporary, jazz, and hip-hop. This class is a big commitment and will be relied on to do performances, meaning that there will be a designated number of absences allowed for this class.
    • Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 6-8 PM. To be enrolled in this class, students must also be enrolled in their age-appropriate jazz and ballet class and strongly encouraged to enroll in the Strength, Stretch, Leaps, and Turns class.
    • Auditions for the Winter/Spring Season will occur on Saturday, November 4 from 11 AM – 1 PM.

*Attire notes:

  • If you are not able to get these items before the first class that is okay! Please send your child in comfortable, tight-fitting clothing, and socks.
